The chicken is almost fairly priced given the ridiculous sizes of their wings and drumsticks. $3.50 for a coke, really? Even if you give it to me in glass bottles (which means less beverage and more container). Though I was dipping my wings in the tteokbokki sauce after a while…I highly recommend this approach. Not the cheapest appetizer but it was recommended on Yelp, and it was good – just not $15 good. We also ordered some Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) as an appetizer. These wings and drumsticks here are from the biggest, most swole chickens on the farm. There aren’t your typical tiny Bonchon wings that come from prepubescent chickens.

The spicy flavor wasn’t very spicy at all, which was a bit disappointing, but the fact that it was all fried to perfection more than made up for it.Īlso, they had pretty generous portions. We got a large combo with both spicy and soy flavors, but I’ve got to say that the flavors are a lot more bland/tame/mild compared to other places.
#MAD FOR CHICKEN KTOWN SKIN#
I’m talking about skin that’s separated from the meat, with a crunch more satisfying than a kettle chip. Taste: 8/10 (better than the rest in NYC)Īmbiance: 8/10 (take your friends here, whether to nom or to drink) Only downside is that they’re a tad on the expensive side.

Also, they have this lounge-y ambiance complemented with a sick playlist. This place has amazing Korean fried chicken. Until yesterday when we went to Turntable Mad for Chicken (MFC).

Going to Korea is on my bucket list, but for now I’ve settled with Bonchon, Kyochon, and BarKogi to satisfy my cravings. It’s something about that twice-fried skin and the spicy yet sweet flavorings that really gets me.
